Hi there!
My name is Dee. I am a mum to a beautiful teenage daughter named Pru, and wife to my best friend and partner in crime, Josh. We live in Far North Queensland and love to explore everything that FNQ has to offer. When I’m not working a fulltime day job, we are out bush camping, or off fishing and snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef. We always travel with our friends and family (and our two little Staffy mates!), making life long memories.
If you know me, then you would know that I love to throw a party! From planning themes, invites, table decorations, guest favours, menu and cocktail recipes and not to mention, spoiling my friends and family with gifts. Soooooo many gifts, I just cannot help myself! I love creating a memorable time and I especially love seeing the reactions when they come to my parties or unwrap their gifts.
Last Christmas, I was trying to give my work colleagues for Christmas something unique and decided to go with a DIY Aperol Sprits cocktail box. I thought to myself, there must be other people out there who love to spoil the people in their lives, but may not have the time to execute it around their busy work and home life.
A few months of planning, stressing and creating later, and Salt and Sun Gift Co was born. It’s an outlet for me to share my creativeness and help create unique and memorable gifts for people who are just too time poor to do it themselves.
I’m a big believer in supporting our local small businesses, and shopping for their beautifully handmade goodies to stock in my gift boxes. Be it, melt in your mouth chocolate from Coffee Works, or mouth-watering, locally hand-crafted award-winning Gin’s and liquors from Devils Thumb Distillery and Wolf Lane Distilleries. From handmade 100% Natural soaps created by The Soap Shed Port Douglas, to beautifully scented candles lovingly made by 26 Candle Co in Dimbulah. The list is truly endless!
